What is the “Gift a Recipe” feature?
The Gift a Recipe feature allows paid members of America’s Test Kitchen to share individual recipes with friends, family, or anyone else. When you click the gift button on a recipe, you’ll be given the option to generate a shareable link that can be copied and sent however you like (email, text, social, etc.).
Do I have a limit on how many recipes I can gift?
Not at this time. As a paid member, you can share an unlimited number of recipes each month with others.
Can I share gift links more widely, like on social media?
We love when members share recipes, but gift links are intended for individual sharing with friends and family only. Using them in ways that bypass membership (like mass posting) isn’t allowed. Please review our Terms and Conditions.
Do recipients need to register or be members to view a gifted recipe?
Not at this time. Anyone with the link can view the full recipe without creating an account or subscribing. If the recipient would like to save the gifted recipe, rate or post a comment they would need a membership.
How long does a gifted recipe link stay active?
Each gifted link is valid for 30 days from the day it’s created. After 30 days, the link will expire.
Can recipients print gifted recipes?
Yes. Recipients can view the full recipe during the 30-day window, and they can also print it for personal use.
What happens after 30 days?
Once a gifted recipe link expires, the recipient will see a message that the link is no longer available. At that point, they would need a membership to access the recipe.
Is there a way for me to track who has opened my gift links?
Not at this time. Members cannot view analytics or recipient information on gifted recipes.
Why is America’s Test Kitchen offering this feature?
We want to make it easier for our members to share their love of cooking with friends and family. Gifting recipes helps spread inspiration in the kitchen — and it’s a great way to introduce new cooks to America’s Test Kitchen.
Will recipients be prompted to subscribe?
Recipients can read the recipe in full without subscribing. However, they may see gentle reminders that becoming a member unlocks unlimited access to our complete recipe library. They will also be prompted to subscribe when visiting any subsequent recipe pages.
